5 Ways to Erase Daily Procrastination in Your Business

According to Real Simple magazine’s survey of 10,000 readers, the average daily to-do list has 5 to 9 tasks on it. Only 5% of the readers are productive for 3 hours during a 9-to-5 workday as a result of web-related distractions. According to the Procrastination Research Group, based on some figures, it is estimated that as much as 95% of the people are prone to procrastination. Amongst them, 20% of them are chronic procrastinators. Procrastination is generally defined as avoided tasks or activities that need to be accomplished. Poor time management and procrastination can be a direct result of having unreachable goals, having to meet others’ standards, disorganization or the inability to handle the task. Below are ways to erase daily procrastination in your business.
  1. Use the first hour or two of your day to work on things that require your attention or have deadlines. Accomplishing necessary tasks will invigorate you to do more.
  2. Inspire yourself with insightful reading. Read at least one business article daily and take action. Try implementing a new idea. Don’t just read about it, but do.
  3. Afternoon organization can make the next day easier. Take 15 minutes at the end of each day to think about tomorrow’s priorities. Knowing what needs to be done at the beginning of each day gives you focus and direction.
  4. Break large projects or tasks into smaller activities and schedule them on your calendar as appointments. Do them in 30-minutes, 1-hour or 3-hour time blocks. You wouldn’t interrupt a scheduled appointment, so don’t allow unnecessary interruptions when working on your projects.
  5. Don’t make lofty goals. Be reasonable in your expectations of yourself, your time and your commitments. Overextending yourself can cause you shut down. Be practical and realistic.
It’s always helpful to identify the source of your procrastination. Take some time to think about why you are putting things off and then try one of the above techniques. Procrastination can really be a struggle and challenge for small business owners, especially when they are simply overwhelmed and unsure of their next move. Take it one step at a time and be conscious of your actions AND inaction.

The Two Reasons Most People Fail at Internet Marketing— and the Three Ways to Avoid Them

If you think having an online business is just about having your own replicated website and throwing it out on the internet and expect money to flow into your bank account, then I think you have to continue reading this. There are people who earn lots of money on the internet and there are also people and I say 95% of them don't make even a single dime. Why? Because first they were not taught how to properly market online and second they were not introduced properly of how online business works in reality.

So here are the 3 important things that you should remember before starting an online business.

1. The Internet allows you to work where and when you want to. You still have to work. That's right. Internet businesses are still businesses, and you're going to get out of yours what you put into it. This still leaves you a lot of freedom. If you want your Internet business as a hobby there's no fault in that.  Just be clear that you're going to earn a hobby-level income.

2. Know yourself. Don't just pick an Internet business based on a spur-of-the-moment enthusiasm you have. Before you're going to succeed at anything, you need to know the strengths and weaknesses you're bringing to the table. More, you need to know what you're passionate about besides earning money. You'll come to hate your Internet business almost as much as your corporate job if you don't build it around your passions.

3. Research. Research. Research. Knowing the kind of Internet business you want to start is just the first step. Now you need to learn who your competition is. You need to find out if the company or companies you want to affiliate with are ethical and have good reputations. And you're going to have to wade through a lot of choices of business models, from turnkey systems to creating everything from scratch.

So you have to learn about marketing. Identify what method you love most and master it and then identify the things you're passionate about. The internet is just a tool for building relationships faster than ever before. You have to have capabilities so people will trust you. As a result they will see you as a leader and will follow and join you as long as you continuously provide valuable contents to them. This is really where the money starts to come in.. You should be willing to give first without want before you can have. Learn learn learn and share your knowledge freely to others who are looking for your help because Persistence and Determination alone are omnipotent.

What is Twitter and How Can It Help You Build An Online Presence?

Twitter has created a unique social media platform that allows individuals, as well as businesses, to post updates in a quick, concise fashion from anywhere in the world. From the teenager at her favorite rock concert to CNN’s breaking news alerts, Twitter now dominates the world of “quick summary” information. In this world of “information saturation”, Twitter’s 140 character message limit requires “tweets” to cut through the fluff and get right to the point. Readers like this, as evidenced by Twitter’s explosive growth in such a short time.

As a marketer, Twitter allows you or your business to laser target a niche. It’s also quite possible you may actually create a “Twitter Persona” that’s far more interesting that you actually are! Why? Because with Twitter you don’t have to come up with a ton of useful content – short bursts of quality information and entertainment is sufficient to build and retain a following on Twitter.

Once you have created a following on Twitter, the platform allows you to stay in frequent contact with your “list” without burning them out. This alone makes Twitter one of the most, if not the most, powerful social media tool for marketers. Because Twitter messages are short and to the point, you can easily tweet up to 4 times a day and cultivate a relationship with your followers much quicker. Compare Twitter to more traditional marketing methods such as email lists, telemarketing, television commercials, etc. If you emailed your list 4 times a day how long do you think it would take for everyone to unsubscribe? If you called prospective customers 4 times a day how long do you think it would take for them to stop picking up the phone … or worse? If you ran the same television commercial 4 times a day how long do you think it would take for viewers to tune out or change the channel? Those methods of marketing are effective in moderation, but they are forced. Your Twitter followers are voluntarily choosing to stay in communication with you because they want to hear what you have to say. And when people want to hear what you have to say, chances are they will eventually buy from you.

It is vital to understand, however, that Twitter is NOT A SALES PLATFORM. This is where many people get it wrong. If you go on to any Social Network and immediately start pitching your product, business or service you will lose your following and your friends quickly. You must establish credibility and cultivate a relationship with your followers before you pitch. But once you have built up credibility and mastered the art of the Twitter conversation you can easily “sell” as often as once a day, and your followers will never know what hit them. The key is discerning when you have reached that point in your relationship with your followers. Hope this will help all beginners out there who are trying to build their online presence. Here is an example of my twitter account just to give you an idea.

A Step by Step System to Avoid Information Overload in Your Internet Marketing Business

Information overload is a huge danger for new internet marketers. It's such a big problem. It can just kill your business. When you start you are bombarded with information and trainings that can delay you actually taking action and getting going - a kind of analysis paralysis.

And unfortunately, it's on the increase. Every day I get emails and pop-ups telling me about the next best thing for this or that - Twitter, Facebook, Pay Per Click, traffic boosters, list builders... I can't keep up with this stuff.

I spent a year hopping from one to another, learning lots but doing little. It's frustrating. So what is the answer?

Well, I've been following Mike Dillard's teachings for some time so I'm all ears on his latest - "Whats Working Now". Mike's outlines the growing problem and talks about bringing EFFICIENCY into your marketing activities. This is a "short cut system" - so you can follow these new trainings but do so in a focused manner.

I certainly resonate with information overload and Mike has certainly struck a chord with lots of people here. There's nearly a 1000 comments on his page! For more information about how to avoid information overload and start focusing on Whats Working Now, click here!

How To Avoid Information Overload

If you've been struggling to build your internet home based business and jumping from one course to another trying to learn all things at once that only lead to frustration and action paralysis, well you are not alone. Because most beginners and intermediate online business owners do get frustrated due to information overload...

Let me ask you a question. If you are the ship captain and your port of destination is in Australia and you are departing  from US, you cannot expect to arrive in Australia in one day, agree? Not until you execute a series of plots in your navigation so you will arrive to your destination in the shortest, safest and most convenient route.

You are the captain of your own business. You start at point A. In order for your to arrive at your port of destination (your goal), you must learn first the How-To so that you will reach your desired destination (goal). There might be some storms and big waves that you might encounter as you navigate the sea, but this is just part of where we are going. The problem in most online marketers is that once they see a storm approaching, they either quit and go back to where they came from. And another issue is that after learning one course, they learn all the others in the hope that after all of these, everything will be in place. But the problem is, this is where most online marketers get frustrated. So how do you avoid information overload?

You have to sit back and start thinking about the big picture. Focus on where you want to go.

1.) Study and master one marketing method that you like most. (Build your list)
2.) Learn copywriting. (Build relationship with your list)
3.) Sit back and relax. That's it.

Stop worrying about all the other courses out there. This will just lead you to action paralysis and information overload. Focus on one single marketing method that you enjoy most and learn copywriting.

And before you turn off your computer and end your day, be sure to write down a list of 5 things, 5 tasks that you want to accomplish the next day and be specific. Example would be to read at least 10 pages of the course that you just bought. That would be specific. Those list of tasks must be related to your goals. When you are finish with those 5 tasks, stop and relax... That's it. Hope this helps you on how to avoid information overload and make sure you check this out.
